LAGOON I - New Construction

As the first FEMA house on its street, the first floor of LAGOON 1 - needed to be 5 ft. above the surrounding homes while still maintaining a connection to the water. A graduated sequence to the water was created to achieve the desired connection. The array of pausing places included an upper "gallery" deck at level with the house, a lower fire pit court, a lower BBQs patio, and finally a "green belt" at the lowest level, close to the water. The graduation creates a variety of connected gathering and viewing spaces ultimately leading down to the waterfront.
